Pastor
Noé Juarez
Pastor Noé was born in Peru. He attended the San Martin Teaching Institute and got his degree in History and Geography. In 2003, he married Laurie and moved to Greensboro, NC. Noé then got his Master of Divinity degree at Union Presbyterian Seminary and a certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education at Duke University. In 2017, he also completed his Doctor of Ministry at Columbia Theological Seminary and taught Practical Theology at Lancaster Theological Seminary.
Prior to coming to First Presbyterian Church, Noé served as a pastor at Sunset Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He then served as an associate pastor for Mission and Family Ministries at Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, PA for 7 years.

Laurie and Noé have two children: Paul Santiago (17) and Ella Gloria (15). They also have a beautiful, spoiled little dog named Gemma. In the last few months, they visited Ayacucho, Peru as missionaries serving in a non-profit, implementing libraries, helping a Presbyterian church, and teaching at a local Seminary.

In his free time, Noé enjoys playing guitar, charango, and Peruvian flute. He also enjoys playing soccer, reading poetry, and traveling. Pastor Noé and his family are super excited to be called to serve at First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro.

Director of Music
J. Matthew Moore
Matthew began his life in church music at the age of 12, as pianist for his neighborhood
Methodist church. Having started piano study in first grade he went on to study organ and voice in high school and held part-time church organist/director positions in Methodist, Presbyterian and Lutheran churches during his early/mid 20’s. After studying Organ Performance and Vocal
Performance at the prestigious University of Michigan School of Music, Matthew has held full-time positions in large-membership Methodist and Catholic churches for the last 28 years. His choirs have performed major choral works with orchestras and toured nationally. He has produced many concerts, conducted community choruses, directed choirs at Reformed and Orthodox Jewish Temples, and performed as a tenor soloist and organist in Michigan, New York, New Mexico, West Virginia and Kentucky. In his free time his nerdy interests include adding to his “to be read” book collection, Irish/British culture and television, genealogy and baking.

Finance Administrator
Jean Whitaker
Jean graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 1988 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. She also has been a Notary Public since 1994. Jean has lived in Goldsboro since 1972 and is the mother of two children, Jennifer and Joseph. She has been the Financial Administrator here at FPC Goldsboro since July 2002.


Director of Christian Education
Paige Corbett
Paige is a small-town girl from Stantonsburg, NC. She is currently pursuing a degree in Christian Studies at the University of Mount Olive. Paige has worked with children and youth since her teens through early childhood education and children and youth ministries. She married her husband, Cody, in November 2020 and enjoys spending her spare time with him fishing, reading, traveling, spending time with family, and all things Disney. Paige is excited to be a part of our congregation and enthusiastic to help shape the faith of our children and youth!

Office & Facilities Administrator
Jessica Lopez Judd
Jessica Lopez Judd was born in Rio Grande City, Texas to immigrant parents from Mexico. She was raised on a beautiful ranch where her dad was a ranch hand. She loved helping feed the animals including goats, cows, horses, peacocks, ostriches and even an alligator and playing outdoors till dark with her 5 siblings. Her parents inspired her to continue her education and taught her to work and love hard. After graduating high school, she moved to Phoenix, AZ to continue her education. There she received her associate degree in Business Management in hopes of opening her own business one day. She has worked in retail business for a long time and made her way to management position. She loves the satisfaction of helping others. In 2009 she met Tim, and they got married in 2010. They have lived in different places including Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, California, and North Carolina. They moved here in 2013 and love it here the place and the people. She has worked at Food Lion as a deli manager since 2015. In 2018 they became members of FPC of Goldsboro and they love the church family. In 2020 she was blessed with her daughter Eliana after many years of waiting for child. She enjoys being a mom, cooking, baking, and reading. Her kind spirit and smile are inspiring, and we are very happy to welcome her as the Office and Facilities administrator. Bienvenida.
Church Sexton
Tom A. Saunders
Tom was born June 15, 1950. He was born and raised in Chester County, PA. He graduated in 1968 and joined the U.S. Army in 1969. He served one year in the Vietnam War, and returned home in 1971. He married and had 7 children. He overcame many challenges in his life with God’s mercy and grace and his oldest son and daughter faithfully praying for him. In 1998, Tom moved to Goldsboro into a men’s discipleship program at New Covenant Fellowship and remained there as an intern for the next 24 years. He has been employed at Food Lion for 25 years. Tom would like to thank everyone for the opportunity to be a part of First Presbyterian Church.
